Registered Nurse - ICU/CCU
: The registered nurse (RN) provides and coordinates holistic care of the patient through honoring patients' mind, body and spirit while respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of each individual. Professional nursing practices are rooted in evidence while being guided by organizational policies/procedures, regulatory standards and professional guidelines. Nursing excellence is the foundation of the nurse-patient relationship and is exemplified by positive patient outcomes, ongoing professional growth and development, and collaborative relationships with other disciplines.
The RN is an exemplar for clinical excellence, professionalism, compassion, acceptance, respect and empathy. RN clinical proficiency is based on a sound knowledge base together with the understanding of the theories and science of nursing practice. Further, RN clinical decision-making incorporates the four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration. As the nursing care team lead, the registered nurse must have the ability to delegate appropriate work to patient care techs, licensed practical nurses, unit secretaries, and students while taking responsibility for the work delegated.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:
- Current RN licensure or temporary Kentucky work permit
- Associate Degree in Nursing with a Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Completion and maintenance of BLS.
- ACLS within 6 months of hire.
- NIHSS within 3 months of hire.
- Successful completion of all competencies as identified on the departmental nurse competency grid.
If you would like to be part of a growing family focused on supporting clinical excellence, teamwork and innovation, we urge you to apply now
