Job Description

This is a mid-level position to work as a Material Handler with the COSAL group at the West Bath Complex. Applicants may be assigned any H18 Trade tasks, but will primarily be assigned to the following.

  • Receive new shipments of material at warehouses and facilities.
  • Receive and process material utilizing appropriate BIW inventory systems.
  • Maintain accurate inventory.
  • Operate bar-code scanners.
  • Operate Forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Loadout of ships material.
  • Operate hand tools.

Pay range for this position is $26.00/hr - $27.00/hr.

Required/Preferred Education/Training
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

*** Prospective candidates must pass a fork-lift competency test at time of interview ***

Required/Preferred Experience
  • One year forklift experience required.
  • Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft office products and use of Inventory systems.
  • Must meet the requirements of the H18 physical task analysis, to include climbing stairs and ladders and other shipboard activities.
  • 1+ year of warehousing experience preferred.
