SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESImplement authorized quality control standards for: incoming raw materials, parts, work in process, end items and finished goods.Coordinate the activities to establish corrective actions for discrepant materials and other processes.Ensure that government contracts are followed through the quality standards required.Comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions relating to quality procedures given in government contracts, federal and military standards and commercial contracts.Instruct inspection personnel in the use of required inspection instruments. Calibrate and check instruments for accuracy. Maintain a thorough documentation system as set forth by federal and commercial product standards.Evaluate all materials in line with quality control standards and monitor processes such as plating, painting, welding and injection molding. Evaluate tool maintenance as required.Coordinate quality problems as follows:PURCHASING - as to quality of purchased materialsMANUFACTURING - as to in-process quality and to resolve all discrepanciesENGINEERING - as to quality specs and to review discrepanciesMFG ENGINEERING - provides data and recommendations for product performanceProvide quality coordination between suppliers, customers, distributors, brokers and other agencies - to review product complaints and advise corrective actions when applicable.Provide supervision for employees on all shifts including weekend work, making sure that all shifts are properly manned with quality personnel.Communicate effectively with department supervisors, foremen and management level personnell.Work overtime as required.Report potential safety problems to the department supervisor and maintain a clean work area.Maintains a regular and reliable level of attendance.Interacts with co-workers in a cooperative and professional manner.Adheres to company policies and procedures.Other duties may be assigned.IX. PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel or crouch.X.
