To fulfill our mission – to provide comprehensive early childhood education and therapeutic services to assist each child in reaching his or her highest potential. *Job Summary: *To provide quality pediatric physical therapy services, birth to 12 years of age, including evaluation, consultation, and ongoing treatment and education to children and their caregivers, and discharge as appropriate. Therapy services may be provided in natural environments, at TLC Learning Center, or through educational programs. *Major Job Responsibilities and Duties* * Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the motor skills, movement patterns, and functional abilities of infants and young children. * Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to gather information about the child's medical history, developmental milestones, and individual needs. * Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (Plan of Care/POC) based on assessment findings, setting age-appropriate goals and objectives for therapy. * Provide hands-on physical therapy interventions, including therapeutic exercises, play-based activities, and motor learning strategies, to address motor delays, muscle weakness, coordination difficulties, and other impairments. * Use specialized equipment and adaptive devices to facilitate movement, improve postural control, and enhance participation in daily activities. * Educate parents/caregivers on positioning techniques, handling strategies, and home exercise programs to support their child's development and promote carryover of therapy goals. * Monitor progress regularly, reassessing goals as needed, and document treatment sessions, progress notes, and outcomes in accordance with professional and regulatory standards. * Advocate for the inclusion of children with therapeutic needs in early childhood programs and promote the creation of supportive environments that facilitate participation and learning. * Stay current with advances in pediatric physical therapy research, early childhood development, and evidence-based interventions through continuing education and professional development activities. * Learn and follow office routines, including, but not limited to checking and responding to voice mail and emails on a regular basis, faxing letters of medical necessity and keeping therapy areas clean and organized. * Collaborate and participate in meetings including monthly Therapeutic Services meetings, all staff meetings, team meetings with preschool personnel and other meetings as assigned by the Therapeutic Services Manager and Executive Director. * Utilize Fusion (electronic health record) to maintain scheduling, charges, and documentation. * Participate in annual and ongoing training required to perform job responsibilities within the Center’s philosophies and policy and procedures or as assigned by the Therapeutic Services Manager or Executive Director. * Assist with Center’s efforts to increase community awareness of TLC Learning Center’s services by attending two (2) events (Community Outreach or fundraisers) per year. * Performs other duties as assigned. *Minimum Qualifications* * Masters in physical therapy from an accredited program. * Bachelors in physical therapy. * Physical Therapist licensure verified through DORA. * CPR and First Aid. * Experience working with infants, toddlers, and young children with developmental delays, neurological disorders, genetic syndromes, or orthopedic conditions. * Knowledge of early childhood development, including typical motor milestones and variations in motor skill acquisition. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with young children and their families in a playful and supportive manner. * Creativity, flexibility, and adaptability in designing age-appropriate interventions and modifying activities to meet the individual needs of each child. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. * Compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for working with young children and promoting their physical and developmental well-being. *Preferred Qualifications* * Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association. * Advanced training in NDT, casting, toe walking, or other pediatric area. * Spanish speaking and American Sign Language a plus *Physical Requirements* * Required lifting and transferring of children and equipment.
