Under the administrative supervision of the Director/Manager of Laboratory Services, and the technical supervision of the Medical Director, the Lead Medical Technologist is responsible for the day-to-day supervision in the hospital laboratories. Clinical responsibilities account for 80% or more of worked hours.
Staff members who treat patients of a specific age group must be aware of the JCAHO requirements specific to that population. The specific information skills related to the position in this job description will be related to the following age group populations: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related science field.
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License California upon hire or
- California Clinical Chemist Scientist License upon hire or
- California Clinical Immunohematologist Scientist License upon hire or
- California Clinical Microbiologist Scientist License upon hire or
- California Clinical Toxicologist Scientist License upon hire or
- California Clinical Cytogeneticist Scientist License upon hire or
- California Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist License upon hire or
- California Clinical Hematology Scientist License upon hire or
- California Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist License upon hire or
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist Biochemistry Special License upon hire.
- 5 years experience as a Medical Technologist.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
