Job Overview

The Clinical Coordinator coordinates and provides administrative and program support services for specialized clinical programs and performs related duties as required or assigned under direction of the program supervisor.

Description of Job Duty
  • Provides clinical and administrative support for the clinic and HIV/STD programs
  • Investigates positive laboratory tests for syphilis and HIV within a six county region; notifies patients of positive tests, interviews patients for partner notification, arranges and follows up on treatment, refers patients to community based services, maintains records, enters information into the Ohio Disease Reporting Systems (ODRS).
  • Performs HIV tests.
  • Works to expand participation in NEO Regional Advisory group for HIV.
  • Participates in community HIV/STD educational activities and targeted outreach designed to identify and test high-risk persons.
  • Coordinates clinical responsibilities and provides oversight in the clinic
  • Coordinates day-to-day activities for assigned program(s).
  • Designs and implements clinical interventions and activities for disease prevention.
  • Completes goals and objectives for assigned grant programs.
  • Ensures compliance with program requirements and regulations.
  • Provides quality control for data management for ongoing data tracking.
  • Develops partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Maintains positive community relations.
  • Prepares promotional materials.
  • Plans or participates in development of program proposals for funding, as assigned.
  • Participates in Medicaid Administrative Activities such as referral, enrollment, monitoring, and coordination of services.
  • Completes 100% of assigned grant objectives and deliverables timely (where applicable).
  • Completes 100% of assigned reporting timely.
  • Meets all caseload contact frequency requirements.
  • Attends all mandatory project meetings.
  • Maintains proficiency in 100% of required SCPH clinical competencies for medication administration and phlebotomy.
  • Accurately follows all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Responds to voicemails and emails within 24 hours.
  • Maintains all appropriate licensure and certification.
  • Adheres to all HIPAA requirements
  • Completes annual goals and training as outlined in Employee Performance Evaluation.
  • Performs job duties under the regulations, policies and procedures set forth by Summit County Public Health and outside agencies such as the County Fiscal Officer, Ohio Department of Health, and state and federal government.
  • Performs any other duties as required for the efficient operation of Summit County Public Health.
  • Obliges, as set forth by the Summit County Public Health Emergency Operations Plan and within the scope of their employment, to be available for emergency service during routine and non-routine hours of operation including 24/7/365 availability. May be required to have medical clearance for respiratory protection or other personal protective equipment and may be exposed to inclement weather, extreme temperatures, unpleasant smells or odors, dust, dirt, fumes, airborne particles, pesticides, toxins or caustic chemicals.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of three years experience in epidemiology and infection control.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
  • Current valid Ohio driver's license, automobile availability and insurance coverage
Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree or substantial course work with emphasis in Epidemiology and Infection Control (MS, MPH, MSN).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Working knowledge of at least one major statistics software product such as ODRS, SAS, SPSS, Stata, or Minitab.
  • Strong knowledge of clinic operations, leadership and analytical skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, and the public.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and accurately both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret regulations.
  • Integrity, sense of responsibility, independent judgment.
