JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview Registration Specialist, Patient Access,Days, 80 Hrs / 2 wks Location: MercyCare Bldg; Janesville, WI or RocktonAve Campus; Rockford, IL. Hybrid schedule opportunities available afterprobationary period. The Registration Specialist is primarilyresponsible for ensuring that established standardized front endpolicies and procedures are effectively and consistently shared withpartners. Creates and provides Registration and scheduling training tonew and existing partners in a classroom setting. Training that iscreated provides a standardized training to frontline partners to ensureconsistency, quality, and compliance to Mercy policy, procedures andguidelines as well government regulations. Creates and provides trainingfor system upgrades in registration and scheduling. Providesstandardized training programs for employees to improve quality andensure compliance with Mercy policies and procedures, regulations andguidelines. Collaborate with the Mercy hospital and clinic leadership tofacilitate standardized delivery of processes to ensure compliance withcash handling, and other established guidelines and standards.Management of registration work queues to correct registration issues toensure timely filing and reimbursement for services. The RegistrationSpecialist remains a continual resource for frontline and hospital staffvia phone and email and onsite training. Responsibilities Analyzebilling denials related to registration errors to investigate rootcause. May be responsible for correction of highly complex registrationissues and system set up. Respond to inquiries for the purpose offinding resolution to complex registration errors and issues. Researchthe registration requirements of insurance companies through phone, web,or review of contracts and monitor insurance notification of changesthat may impact front end processes. Perform monthly registration auditsto confirm pre-admission functions, insurance verification andpre-certification actions are performed and accurate. Takes opportunitythrough audits to provide education to partners in need of guidance.Provides feedback to partner leadership partners and if audit findingsshow ongoing issues. Assist patient financial counselors who needassistance with self-estimates, charge costs and act as liaison withphysician and office staff to obtain clinical information if needed.Assists with insurance authorizations. Assist with setting up newfinancial programs such as credit card and bank loan programs. Plans andorganizes patient access/registration employee trainings and materialsfor the purpose of implementing training activities that address frontend/access processes at clinic and hospital locations.
