Position Summary

Austin Retina Associates is seeking a responsible, self-motivated individual to help us provide unparalleled patient satisfaction by welcoming and checking in patients.
Duties
  • Greet and check in patients, capturing insurance and other key information, scanning documents as needed
  • Check out patients at front desk or in exam room as needed, scheduling appointments as needed and collecting any required payments.
  • Assist patients with check-in process at kiosk as needed.
  • Input required data and forms (e.g. data entry, document scanning) into the medical record system.
  • Stay in frequent communication via chat, phone and email with our clinical staff and insurance/billing staff.
  • Drive or ride alone or with other employees to satellite offices to assist with check-in/check-out when requested
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Attributes
  • Skill with multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to type quickly and use multiple computer systems/screens simultaneously to communicate and input information
  • Skill/ability with efficient computer use including browsers, multiple windows/tabs, scanners, etc.
  • Warm demeanor when greeting and dealing with patients and staff. Smiles and readily approaches patients to welcome them to our office.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships at work even in a high-paced, sometimes high-stress environment
  • Ability to consistently be on time, alert, and ready for work
  • Valid Texas drivers license and acceptable driving record
  • Reliable means of transportation if company vehicle unavailable
  • Successful completion of criminal background check
Desired Attributes
  • Experience in medical office front desk or administration
  • Bilingual fluency (Spanish)
Position Details
  • Schedule assigned by supervisor.
  • Hourly pay (FLSA non-exempt, eligible for overtime)
  • Starting pay $18-$22 hr (depends on experience level)
Physical Requirements

Ability to see and hear patients and coworkers

Ability to speak loud enough for patients to hear

Ability to operate computer devices continually during the work day

Ability to stand for several hours at a time
