As a Summer Intern at Corient, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the financial planning industry while supporting our Financial Planning Team. This internship will provide the opportunity to learn the business's various aspects, including client services, operations, and investments. You will be key in assisting with client-related tasks and contributing to firm projects.
Location: Wayne, PA (5x a week in office)
Duration: June-August 2025
Hours: 40/hrs. a week
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare materials for client presentations, such as financial independence and education projections, net worth statements, cash flow reports, budgets, insurance, and estate planning summaries.
- Review, summarize, and analyze information related to various financial aspects of a client's life, including risk management, retirement planning, benefits, taxes, estate plans, gifting, charitable endeavors, and education.
- Assist in preparing customized financial planning templates for client meetings.
- Research financial planning topics as needed.
- Manage client and firm documents in the document management system.
- Contribute to firm projects and departmental initiatives as requested.
- Represent Corient positively to clients, outside professionals, and the public.
- Effective workload management.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, prioritize work, and take direction from multiple team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to work quickly and accurately to meet deadlines.
- Basic understanding of financial planning and investment concepts.
- Familiarity with insurance, estate planning, and tax principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree and ideally will be a rising junior or senior come summer 2025 (rising sophomores are welcome to apply)

- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding client and firm matters.
- This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. - This position may require the ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- This position is required to work onsite 4 days per week.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
