This position is a key member of the company Leadership Team and will have input on all aspects of the business while ensuring the accuracy of financial records and results. The individual filling this role will be comfortable with the full range of hands-on controller activity while still able to engage at a strategic and analytical level. As a member of the Management Team and reporting to the President, the Controller is a key strategic thought partner with primary leadership responsibilities for finance, planning and budgeting.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop, refine, and direct use of accounting systems and internal control of systems.
  • Provide management, coaching, development, and oversight to accounting staff.
  • Manage all accounting activity including expense control, cash management, forecasting and overall accounting controls.
  • Direct all financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis activities.
  • Oversee all commercial insurance programs including monitoring annual audit premiums and insurance company audits.
  • Coordinate year-end audit with company CPA audit firm.
  • Work with internal teams to meet financial and operating goals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and customer relations software.
  • Excellent leadership and persuasive skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fun, fast-paced, and challenging environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or related field.
  • Five or more years of public accounting experience.
  • Private company experience in a service industry or multi-location.
  • CPA Preferred.
  • Experience with acquisitions a plus.
