About the job Dental Assistant Job DescriptionThe duties of a Pediatric Dental Assistant are among the most comprehensive and varied in our dental office. Our Pediatric Dental Assistants are motivated, team-oriented professionals who possess the ability to work with children of all ages. This position requires excellent interpersonal, communication, and technical skills along with friendly chairside manner. If you're eager to provide quality dental care, enjoy working with your hands, and want a career with growth and responsibility, then our office is for you.Daily DutiesVerify and explain patient insurance benefitsAssists with posting insurance payments and adjustmentsVerify patient medical historyTake digital x-rays of children's teethPrepare and breakdown treatment roomsChart the doctor's observations, comments, and recommended treatmentsAccurately document treatments provided during each visitAssist with managing supply inventoryServe as the infection control officer, preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipmentEducate children and parents on proper brushing techniques and the importance of the recommended treatmentsQualificationsSuccessful completion of an accredited dental assistant training program (or 3 years of progressive experience) Expanded duty certification (preferred) Current CPR certification (required)Experience taking digital x-rays (required)Strong understanding of Slack and OpenDentalCompetency in Microsoft Office, Google Suites, email, social media, copiers, and multiple line phone systemAbility to be a team player who enjoys working and assisting with othersMust be a problem solver, task oriented, and pay attention to detail
