As a Sacred Heart School, our mission is rooted in The Five Goals of Sacred Heart Education Goal One: A Personal and Active Faith in God Goal Two: A Deep Respect for Intellectual Values Goal Three: A Social Awareness that impels to Action Goal Four: The Building of Community as a Christian Value Goal Five: Personal Growth in an Atmosphere of Wise Freedom Job Description The Director of Learning Support Services will work in connection with our School Counselor and Math and Reading Specialists to create more tailored programs of support for those students who need such support or enrichment to be successfully engaged in our program-inclusive of those who have diagnoses, those who generally experience struggle, and those who need enrichment or expansion upon the school's curriculum. This is a blend of an administrative position and a "boots-on-the-ground" role that will involve working with a caseload of students. The Director of Learning Support Services will report to the Lower School Division Head. Duties and Responsibilities Support students with different learning needs, from high-performing to struggling learners, through direct intervention across both the Lower School and Middle School divisions. Work collaboratively and in conjunction with division heads, academic specialists, dean of students, counselor, and teachers, to identify and target individual student learning needs and opportunities. Assist in developing and implementing intervention schedule for students to access Regis-based academic specialists; assist private tutors in developing an on-campus intervention schedule. Coordinate standardized testing schoolwide, in coordination with division heads. Meet with teachers and staff at grade level meetings to discuss and plan for student needs. In coordination with division heads, analyze formal and informal data on individual students. Effectively communicate this analyzed data with teachers and parents regarding student progress. Help these stakeholders understand how to move from data to action steps. Keep organized records while maintaining confidentiality and privacy. Review psycho-educational and psychological evaluations as needed and attend Child Study Meetings and Student Support Meetings to collaborate and assist in determining appropriate accommodations and strategies to best bolster student success. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required, Masters Degree preferred Minimum of 3 years of classroom experience Current Teaching Certificate preferred Experience in providing research-based academic intervention to students with a variety of learning needs (special education certification preferred) Knowledge of differentiated pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning, especially as pertains to learning needs outside the norm.
