Department Overview

Electric Operations is responsible for ensuring the delivery of clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy to a large population in Northern and Central California. The department manages every aspect of electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance, construction, asset management, and emergency response.

Position Summary

The Supervisor role involves managing teams responsible for maintaining and building various components of the electric distribution grid. The main focus is on outage response, monitoring, and restoration efforts across the service territory. The Supervisor ensures the delivery of safe and reliable electric service while complying with regulatory requirements. Other responsibilities include analyzing and prioritizing outages, implementing safety policies, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversees operational activities to ensure safe and efficient work execution.
  • Supports the presence of T&D Supervisors in the field.
  • Implements strategies to maximize work efficiency.
  • Regularly monitors progress and employee performance at work sites.
  • Manages emergent work and handles external customer needs.
  • Leads special assignments such as process improvement and technology implementation.
  • Coordinates Fleet/Yard/Tools/Materials and supports construction activities.
  • Identifies productivity improvements and implements cost-saving practices.
  • Develops action plans to enhance employee knowledge and skills.
  • Responds to emails/data requests and redirects them as needed.
  • Prepares for company efforts to reduce system risks.
  • Supervises staff to achieve results through recruitment, training, and performance management.
Qualifications
  • High School or GED Diploma
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant fields
  • CA Class C License or equivalent
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of working time
  • Willingness to work in various conditions and locations
  • Flexible work schedule

Desired:

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Utility industry experience
  • Journeyman or higher experience in Lineman line of progression
  • On-call rotation experience
  • Quality control and resource planning experience
