Summary of the position:
Hitachis HR Director-HIES North America provides strategic HR direction for Hitachi Industrial Equipment Solutions companies in North America excluding Hitachi Global Air Power. This position will be responsible for the following areas for businesses in scope: employee relations, employee communication, onboarding, benefits management, performance management, policy implementation, retention strategies, workforce development, Hitachi compliance, and employment law compliance and staffing selection. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who can relate to individuals at all levels within multiple organizations while balancing employee goodwill and business needs.
This position is located on site at Telesis in Circleville, Ohio.
Duties and responsibilities:
Collaborate with senior leadership to understand goals and set strategy related to workforce development.
Plan, lead, direct, develop and coordinate HR strategic activities across businesses within scope. Report to Vice President, Human Resources to ensure growth and improvement objectives are met.
Serve as the strategic human resources partner to business leaders, managers and employees across all other functions.
Provide management and leadership to HR teams in companies within scope. Work closely with Director, Human Resources for Hitachi Global Air Power to ensure consistency across all North America companies.
Regularly review and advise on human resources policies. Assist with policy and process revisions and communicate internally as required.
Work closely with employees and managers to resolve issues.
Manage program deployment in key human resource disciplines, including:

Diversity and Inclusion.
Talent identification, placement and development.
Workforce development.
Performance management.
Compensation and benefits.
Employee relations and conflict resolution.
Employee communications.

Qualifications:
Education

:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management or a related field required.
PHR or SHRM certification preferred.
Professional experience:
Minimum of ten years of experience in a human resource leadership role with demonstrated delivery of results in customer and employee satisfaction, HR process improvement, achieving staffing and retention metrics, maintaining positive employee relations and HR process implementation and support.
Strong teaming skills, project management and influence skills are essential, as the role requires cross-organizational coordination.
Must be reliable, dependable, trustworthy and tactful.
Candidate must be able to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer skills, and coaching skills required.
