Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits seeks a Regional Chain Manager, Pacific Northwest (PNW). This role will contribute to the execution of national company strategies and account management for off-premise regional chain accounts including grocery and specialty grocery retailers in this market.

This position will report to Vice President, Strategic Accounts, West and is based in Washington State. Responsibilities are outlined below. These responsibilities are representative of the key areas of focus but are not limited to the items listed below.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver annual volume and profit plan for assigned chain accounts.
  • Deliver annual account business plan.
  • Beat the competition on key defined performance metrics.
  • Partner with distributor management team to ensure distributor executes and achieves the retailer programming compliance targets.
  • Manage trade budget within brand strategy and spending guidelines.
  • Review IRI, Panel data reports, etc; understand performance drivers and acts on opportunities while working closely with DFWS Business Intelligence team.
  • Collaborate with National Chain Directors on Kroger and Albertsons corporate program execution and local selling/activation with local buyer.
  • Lead communication nationally for accounts the reach outside the PNW such as Winco.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Customer Marketing team on custom marketing support where appropriate to achieve programming goals.
  • Create annual account plans to include creative programming, innovation, distribution goals that achieve targets.
  • Collaborate with category development to ensure excellent account call preparation and delivery.
  • Build and deliver best in class presentations for retailer account calls focused on planning, creative program activity and new item distribution.
  • Establish monthly scorecards and metrics to monitor and measure execution performance and ensure improvement in results.
  • Develop and build relationships with local market distributor team to influence and impact acct programming activity and execution.
  • Review chain depletion sales performance vs. plan at the end of each month with VP, Strategic Accounts - West. Initiate corrective action as needed.
  • Monitor chain pricing regularly to ensure compliance to targeted retails while understanding customers' retail strategy and protecting price integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Must reside in Washington (state)
  • College degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years managing off premise regional and/or national chains.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve; to get at the root cause of issues and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Must possess solid knowledge of Category Management with strong analytical skills.
  • Solid computer skills requiring the development of compelling customer presentations (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong negotiating skills; proven track record in winning others over to fact-based recommendations
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Experience within 3 tier distribution system and managing multi line distributors.
  • Hands-on approach to business. Very flexible and owns all aspects of the business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface at all levels internally and externally.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills plus strong presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel 20% of the time.
