Overview:

The primary function of the Warehouse Manager is to provide leadership and manage warehouse resources including labor, equipment, operating systems, and space to optimize all receiving, warehousing, and shipment activities. Responsible for developing and maintaining a high performing team with strong employee morale and dedication to serving customers

Description:

+ Manage warehouse personnel:

+ Select, orient, coach, and motivate team members.

+ Trains personnel in all aspects of their job responsibilities including use of warehouse equipment, operating systems, security, and safety protocols.

+ Establishes departmental goals and objectives to meet customer and business demands.

+ Plans and assigns work assignments to ensure effective utilization of warehouse personnel.

+ Ensure that all duties of each employee are completed, both timely and accurately.

+ Coach and counsel employees on performance, disciplinary, and training issues, when necessary, and maintain all relevant records.

+ Conduct regular team member feedback and performance meetings.

+ Performs periodic performance appraisals of team members.

+ Responsible for Standard Operating Procedures and Reports:

+ Maintains current processes and ensure our practices support lean manufacturing, are ISO compliant, meet FDA standards, and meet OSHA requirements. Ensure compliance with established processes and procedures.

+ Analyzes current processes to determine where gaps exist, or processes may be improved to improve operational performance.

+ Identify, develop, and implement new standard operating procedures for warehouses functions.

+ Maintains and reviews the training programs for warehouse personnel to incorporate new or improved SOPs.

+ Maintains and helps further develop the safety program for the company. This will include evaluating and certifying personnel on specific warehouse equipment.

+ Identify, develop, and implement KPIs to enable objective assessment of performance and identify areas for improvement.

+ Develops and executes reports related to the performance of the warehouse, both for individuals and the entire team.

+ Reviews and improves warehouse layout and product flow to achieve improve efficiencies.

+ Maintain the integrity and accuracy of order selection and outbound shipping:

+ Maintain accuracy and quality of picking and shipping outbound orders. This is inclusive of accurate shipping transactional documentation, shipping confirmation, and end of day reports and confirmations.

+ Use, maintain, and develop parcel and freight shipping systems to optimize the operational goals of the company.

+ Use, maintain, and develop methods to minimize spend through consolidation, shipment packaging, and pallet construction.

+ Reviews and disputes, if reasonable, any carrier discrepancies.

+ Maintains and/or develops transactional reports.

+ Ensure all team deliverables are met or exceeded.

+ Manage all inbound receiving, domestic and international, of products, materials, and returns:

+ Schedule inbound appointments to ensure timely and accurate receipts.

+ Ensure all inbound orders are palletized, labeled, and released into inventory.

+ Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) merchandise is received and transferred to Quality.

+ Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the inventory:

+ Establishes and executes quarterly cycle count. Process relevant adjustments and transfers along with the proper support documentation in a timely manner. Provides root cause analysis for cycle count adjustments to correct the underlying issues.

+ Manage annual physical inventory counts.

+ Replenish bins daily as needed to ensure ease and accuracy of order selection.

+ Develops ways to reduce inventory shrinkage.

+ Establish and maintain effective internal controls over the product flow and account of inventory through receiving, replenishment, distribution, or other transactions.

+ Periodically review warehouse layout ensuring efficient order selection.

+ Monitors inventory valuation, inventory movement, and assists in proper disposition.

+ Proficient in use of WMS systems and tools.

+ Manage the warehouse appearance and functionality:

+ Maintain clean, sanitary working environment to ensure proper storage and delivery of products as defined in our quality standards. Ensure warehouse is consistently visitor ready.

+ Ensure proper use, maintenance, and calibration of the warehouse and equipment. Maintain proper documentation and maintenance records.

+ Ensure the warehouse is secure prior to departure at the end of day.

+ Manage warehouse documentation requirements and foster a paper-free environment.

+ Identify, through an initiative-taking approach, potential cost saving and efficiency gain opportunities in logistics and inventory to improve overall performance and operating metrics.

+ Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Policies and Procedures Manual, including safety, security, and quality.

+ Identify and solve issues as they are presented both operationally and personnel related.

+ Provide high quality customer service to all in-house personnel, customers, and vendors. This includes promptly reviewing and responding to all internal and external inquiries, using phone and email.

+ Perform other duties including special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Qualifications:

+ Must be a High School graduate with a minimum of 8 years directly related work experience, or a combination of education and experience.

+ Must have 5 years of leadership experience in a warehouse environment.

+ Must have minimum of 5 years experience in Good Warehousing Practices and/or Good Distribution Practices.

+ Must have extensive experience with WMS, TMS, and QMS systems.

+ Must be able to use Microsoft Applications effectively and efficiently and have ability to learn new software programs and emerging technologies.

+ Be certified to operate and train personnel to use all warehouse equipment.
