As a Quality Technician, you will perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of in-process batches, raw materials, and finished products for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development. You will work with and report to the Manager of Quality Services at our Oak Creek facility. **This is a 2nd Shift Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Verifies formula and component specifications on batch tickets
  • Sets up, adjusts, calibrates, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments such paint guns, mixers, viscometers, chemical balances, pH meters, gloss meters, solids analyzer, spectrophotometer, and other equipment
  • Tests samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.
  • Records test results on batch tickets and in our computer operating system.
  • Organizes and maintains quality records and retains of production batches
  • Evaluates retains of production batches in response to quality complaints.
  • Conducts in-coming raw materials testing, ensuring conformance to required specifications.
  • Performs routine production quality checks to ensure finished products are filled and packaged according to specifications.
  • Performs occasional quality audits of laboratory and production work instructions to ensure compliance to the company's Quality Policy.

Qualifications

•High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field preferred.

•Inspection, test and product evaluation experience

•General knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies preferred

.•Ability to identify issues that need to be addressed and to take the necessary steps to avoid future errors.
