Company: The Academy for Young Achievers Position Title: Janitor (Full-time) Location: 6601 Grandview Dr. Indianapolis, Indiana Reports To: Executive Director Salary: $16.00 per hour Job Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in our facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various cleaning and light maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, healthy, clean, and pleasant environment. Key Responsibilities: Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and floors. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all areas. Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, countertops, and windows. Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly. Refill soap dispensers, paper towels, and other necessary supplies, as needed Clean and maintain classrooms and common areas, such as hallways, lobbies, and break room. Perform minor repairs and report major maintenance needs to the supervisor. Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are used and stored safely. Follow all health and safety regulations. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous janitorial or cleaning experience is a plus. Ability to operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and buffers. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Must be able to lift and move heavy objects. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Strong communication skills. Working Conditions: Childcare Facility Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and solutions.
