If so, you might be the perfect fit for our team We are hiring a full-time Emergency Veterinary Technician with strong leadership skills to work alongside our experienced and friendly staff and emergency doctors. We Believe in Fostering a Positive and Supportive Work Environment Where Everyone Can Grow and Learn.Our in-house diagnostics include a full in-house Idexx lab, blood gas analyzers, coag profile, bile acids, cortisol, Heska blood typing, Imagyst digital slide reader, and cytospin. In addition, we have a Vimago CT, force triad vessel fusion, Veterinary PRP/stem cell centrifuge, hyperbaric oxygen chamber, a Snyder oxygen cage, and a therapeutic laser.Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Technical duties include, but are not limited to:Provide friendly, quality care to our clients. Provide and maintain a high standard of patient care, including but not limited to:Discharging patients from the clinicFill prescriptionsDraw bloodObtain vitals on patientsAssist in inducing and maintaining patients under sedation or anesthesia.Maintain a high standard of patient careIV catheter placement and maintenance.Medication administrationAssist with surgical procedures, including preparation and monitoring of the patient. Knowledge of drugs and their dosages/usesRecognizing and reporting pain, distress, or any other patient concerns.Assist in emergency services (CPR, unaided catheterization/intubation, drug administration)Qualifications: Minimum 2 years as a Veterinary Technician/Nurse. CVT or RVT strongly preferred.Associates Degree or higher.Prior experience in Emergency and/or Urgent Care preferred.Skills: Effective communication with clients and staff membersAbility to safely lift objects or pets of at least 50lbs (you may ask for assistance)Ability to work with or without direct supervisionRestrain and control cats and dogs of any temperamentRecognize concerning behaviors in petsMake conversions and calculationsAdapt to different needs and preferences of different doctors.
