The Major Gifts | Campaign Manager reports to the Major Gift Officer and will support senior staff members in acquiring major gifts. This newly created position will work closely with the CEO, Major Gifts Officer, CDO, and volunteer solicitors to provide support to the Development Department as Holy Family expands the major donor pipeline for the Annual Fund Campaign, For Such A Time As This. Paramount in this role is to manage the Campaign with a specific focus on the major gifts tract. Key responsibilities include Donor Move Management and creating strategies for ongoing connection with current and prospective donors.

This is a full-time hybrid role, and occasional evenings and weekends will be required. Holy Family programs are located in the North Lawndale community of Chicago, but this position is primarily based in the Development Office in Westchester, IL.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Major Gifts | Campaign Manager will be highly proficient in the research and qualification of donors and possess strong organization and project management skills.
  • Deliver a high-quality donor experience through regular correspondence, tailored proposals, timely gift acknowledgments, and effective stewardship activities.
  • Systematically and proactively assess the status of donors and prospects in the current donor database to make recommendations to qualify major gifts status using a moves management methodology.
  • When moved to major gifts status, the Manager prepares a detailed briefing that includes a summary of the donor's relationship with Holy Family and other information gathered from Donor Search and other sources.
  • Data mine and prepare detailed reports on new prospects to determine whether they have the potential to be cultivated and stewarded to major gift status.
  • Directly contact donors to schedule digital, phone, and in-person meetings for the CEO, Major Gifts Officer (MGO), or Board Members/volunteer solicitors.
  • Document ALL donor interactions, track actions that are taken, and ensure that any follow-up actions are completed and tracked (including but not limited to sending materials, invitations to scheduled stewardship events, private invitations to visit the school, next meeting, etc.).
  • Prepare summary reports for the CEO and Major Gifts Officer.
  • Assist the MGO and CDO, together with the Development Team with planning the components of each event that focus on major gift donors.
  • Support the work of the HFM Engagement Committee at the time it is established.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • An undergraduate (bachelors) degree from an accredited university.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated track record of success in managing and supporting the acquisition of major gift
  • Experience supporting a fundraising campaign
  • Data mining preparing analytical summaries is a significant portion of the role
  • Strong project management and critical thinking skills with a high attention to detail are essential
  • Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills with the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in leveraging Donor Database systems and MS Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Results Plus (MetaFile), Raisers Edge (Blackbaud), and Donor Search are highly desired.
