The Assistant Production Manager will provide constant communication, feedback and recognition to team members and production leaders to enable a positive team member experience.Duties / Responsibilities:The Assistant Production Manager, under the direction of the Production Manager, will be responsible for the following duties/responsibilities:Ability to lead large groups of people and focus on developing a culture of accountability working as a teamStrict adherence and compliance with quality assurance requirements to include HUD building codesBe safety minded and ability to put Safety 1st - must adhere to strict safety rules and guidelinesReviewing production performance and identifying training opportunities of production personnel as necessaryDirect teams effectively in each department to ensure timelines and production priorities are metProvide sound leadership, coaching, mentoring, and direction for personnel development and employee engagementImprove production processes for the purpose of improving overall quality, reducing lead-times, and lowering costs of operations by utilizing Lean Manufacturing methods, 6S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, etc. applications where necessaryLead, guide and direct department leadersOther duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma/GED or equivalent experienceMinimum 2-3 years relevant management experiencePrevious construction experience strongly preferredExperience in manufactured housing is greatly desiredExcellent planning and organizational skillsWell-developed interpersonal and communication skills at all levelsMicrosoft Word, Excel, as well as basic math skillsMust be detail-oriented and can multi-task effectivelyAbility to read and understand home building specifications greatly desiredDemonstrated adherence to safety protocols Ability to adapt quickly and make sound decisions in a changing, fast-paced work environmentPhysical Demands:Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling.Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time.Travel Requirements:As NeededWhy Clayton?
