Description

Overview: MERRILL Technologies Group is searching for a Supply Chain Intern. Working closely with the Director of Supply Chain and Buyers, this position will work in support of MERRILL Technology Group's customer quotations as a part of our Advanced Supply Chain initiative.

Job Functions:

  • Market test commodities in support of eventual purchase once business has been awarded to MERRILL
  • Discovering total value proposition to MERRILL from supply base inclusive of pricing, lead time, expected service, freight considerations, and more
  • Gather data in support of KPI and other group performance reporting.
  • Supporting inventory management teams at production facilities
  • Providing data to PMO teams to support customer dialogues
  • Interdepartmental activity is anticipated on an as-needed basis
Qualificiations:
  • In the process of earning a 4 Year bachelors' degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
  • Analytical, good communication, and cross-functional team skills.
  • Relevant coursework and academic projects, some prior full or part-time employment history.
  • High energy, expeditious, ethical, optimistic/ready to help, and customer focused.
  • Prior internship experience or employment in a Supply Chain related field a plus.
  • Responsible for investigating pricing and issues with suppliers.
  • Research and identify new suppliers to meet strategies & production requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to create requests for quotation and statements of work for items required.
  • Conduct analysis on supplier quotes and identify availability as well as the lowest Total Cost Suppliers.
  • Interview suppliers and evaluate their products and capabilities.
  • Maintain positive supplier relationships.


Objectives: Accountable for accurate data in support of Buyers issuing purchase orders, team reports, and in support of internal customer needs.

No authority to independently issue purchase orders or make purchasing decisions.

RELEVANCE AND IMPORTANCE OF POSITION TO QUALITY OBJECTIVES: The quality objectives of supplied product on time deliveries and quality are dependent to a large extent on the Supply Chain team. The price, quality, and on-time delivery of the equipment we sell to our customers is directly affected by the supplied materials going into them.
