Job Type Full-timeDescriptionHOURS: Monday -Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PMGENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONResponsible for patient care and all their needs, whether it is just listening, giving a pat on the hand during procedure, blood draw, etc. Communicate with the Physician and his/her nurse so that each patient is assured of the proper care. Serves as support personnel following regulations for the practice of Medical Assistants including assisting with patient admissions, patient procedures, care and maintenance of procedural instrumentation, discharging patients, chart preparation, medical records, assisting providers and other personnel as needed, and other collateral duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Greet patients in a polite and helpful manner. Provide necessary instructions.2. Assist doctor with patient's care may include sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/X-ray reports, hospital notes.3. Collect specimens and draw blood.4. Assist with chart data management, Lab, pathology.5. Check daily charts for needed tests scheduled, such as blood draws, etc.6. Maintain adequate medical supplies in exam rooms on daily basis. Setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocols; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance7. Maintain patient confidentiality.8. Maintain proper flow of patients and orders directed by a physician.RequirementsEducation:High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or a community college course in medical assisting. Appropriate certificate indicating passing grade for specific specialty if working in specialty department; e.g., pediatric medical assistant exam.Experience:Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office. Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection current experience.Other Requirements: Current documentation of a national certification for the registered medical assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or for the certified assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Must possess a current CPR certification and current health records with the appropriate immunizations to work in the health care field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis).
