About the EmployerThe Merced County Office of Education assists Merced County's 20 school districts through support and oversight of curriculum and instruction, alternative education, business services, early education, technology, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing. MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School.Job SummaryUnder general supervision of the Custodial Services Supervisor, the Custodian performs a variety of work duties required to maintain the County Office of Education's buildings/facilities in clean and safe condition and within prescribed safety/security standards. This position must demonstrate ability to work independently adjusting work assignments to blend with school schedules, document Safety Data Sheets (SDS), operate all equipment used in connection with cleaning floors and projects, perform light maintenance, and assist in guiding the work of Custodian Trainees. Minimum qualifications: This position requires a High School diploma or recognized equivalent, and 6 months of prior custodial/building maintenance experience. Licenses and Certificates: ? Requires a valid California driver's license. If using personal vehicle in the course of employment, must have proof of liability insurance required by law. ? DMV Driver Record printout. ? Requires satisfactory results from pre-employment strength test. ? Must obtain and maintain Pesticide Applicator Safety Certificate.
