Manual Machinist

Trace Aviation, a division of Precision Aviation Group, is a leader in the MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) industry for general aviation aircraft. Our facility is located in Coatesville, PA and has an opening in our Machine Shop. This is a great opportunity for an individual with strong hands-on experience to get into the aviation industry. The Machinist will use knowledge, skills, experience, and good judgement to produce a reliable, quality, airworthy product at a reasonable cost and optimum turn time while providing the highest quality of workmanship for all work accomplished. Previous aviation experience is valued, but not required. Essential Functions include: Fabricate modify and repair parts and materials to improve overall production.Operate machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.Test completed equipment to detect and remove defects.Perform routine maintenance on machinery.Calculate dimensions and tolerance using measuring instruments.Ideal candidates will offer: 1. Job shop machinist with a minimum of (5) years-experience2. Must possess a full understanding and hands-on experience with manual lathes, manual milling machines and related machine shop equipment3. Strong mathematical skills4. Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude5. Proficient in the use of micrometers, Vernier calipers and indicators6. This is a primarily standing position at least 80% of the day.
