Fives Giddings & Lewis is looking to add a Buyer to their team. Core responsibilities include:

* Initiates purchase orders into the procurement system after determining the proper supplier, order quantity, deliver schedule and pricing.

* Expedites orders as necessary to insure delivery date requirements are met.

* Controls or reduces costs through negotiations, competitive quoting, resourcing, identification of alternative products or materials or cost avoidance.

* Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, quality control, other departments and suppliers to improve the quality of products and services.

* Partners with suppliers to reduce total costs within the supply chain.

* Monitors supplier business conditions and market conditions

* Monitors supplier delivery performance, shares information with suppliers and jointly takes corrective action as necessary.

** Education and Experiences**

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
