Phlebotomy Technician We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomy Technician to join our dynamic health care team. Salary: DOE per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct blood draws and collection of other specimens with precision using both straight and butterfly needles. Label and process specimens according to prescribed procedures which include centrifuging and splitting samples. Ensure accurate matching of laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Prepare and package specimens for safe transport, adhering to required procedures and temperature guidelines. Maintain meticulous records of maintenance data, decontamination, and patient information updates in accordance with OSHA and DEP regulations. Provide clear and courteous explanation of procedures to patients and attend to their inquiries over the phone or in person. Minimum Position Qualifications: Valid Phlebotomy certification as required by state law. Minimum of 6 months' experience in venipuncture and specimen handling in a lab or hospital environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED required; 2-4 years experience in phlebotomy is preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Proven track record in troubleshooting and making workflow recommendations. Experience in handling multiple priorities effectively with exceptional organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats. Skills: Strong technical skills with the ability to operate centrifuging equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with patients, staff, and the medical team. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in all lab procedures.
