OVERVIEW
The Clerk/Auditor department at Cache County Corporation is seeking a motivated financial professional to perform a variety of complex financial duties, including reviewing and analyzing budgets, conducting analyses, general ledger accounting including accruals, reconciliations, and various internal and external reporting for assigned departments. This is a full-time benefited position generally working Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Compile, review, and analyze data submitted by departments and divisions for inclusion in the County's annual budget throughout the budget preparation period;

Compile, review, and analyze data submitted by departments and divisions for inclusion in the County's capital improvement program throughout the CIP preparation period;

Respond to department and division inquiries regarding budget issues;

Review and make recommendations regarding department budget proposals;

Provide training to departments regarding the use of the County's financial system;

Develop and maintain budget monitoring models and coordinate production of quarterly financial reports, including design and development of a variety of queries, macros, and complex spreadsheets from downloaded data;

Analyze and review budget expenditures and revenue estimates to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations;

Reconcile actual revenue to budget by account, identifying discrepancies for correction and justifying unusual revenue patterns;

Compile and track assets for internal reporting and external audit reporting;

Assist with the external audit by compiling supporting documents and assisting with external auditor questions;

Compile, review, and account for grant documentation and reporting;

Prepare journal entries related to general ledger maintenance and financial reporting;

Perform all work duties and responsibilities in accordance with County policies and procedures;

Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting AND a minimum of 3 years of experience performing complex governmental budgeting and research activities OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
