J.D. Irving, Limited, Woodlands Division is currently seeking candidates for the role of Apprentice Cook in central New Brunswick. Reporting to the Facilities & Property Manager, the Apprentice Cook will be responsible to support the Head Cook. With a focus on maintaining the highest level of food quality, cleanliness, and professionalism, the Apprentice Cook will work in a team of culinary professionals to deliver top quality meals.

The Apprentice Cook is a full-time seasonal position located in one of our camp facilities in Central New Brunswick. The position is available from May 2nd to October 28th, 2022 and will be located at our camps located at either 201 Southwest Road, Juniper, NB, E7L 4S7; 5120 Route 107, Deersdale, NB, E7L 1W5; 290 Main Street, Chipman, NB, E4A 2M7.

**Qualifications:**

* High School Diploma

* Food safety certification

* Minimum 2-3 years experience working in a kitchen environment

* Experience cooking in a remote location would be considered an asset

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Assist Head Cook in preparation of meals

* Serve customers at counters

* Prepare sandwiches, salads, and baked goods for bagged lunches

* Portion, assemble and wrap food and package for take-out

* Stock refrigerators, salad bars and desert trays and date food

* Clean Kitchen, Floors, and Work areas, and perform other duties to assist cook and kitchen staff

**Terms of Employment:**

* Seasonal position (May 2, 2022 - October 28, 2022)

* Full time; 812-hour shifts

* 40-70 hours per week

* Days, Evenings & Weekends

**Compensation:**

* $17.81/hr
