Part-Time Maintenance Technician Linden Housing Authority The Linden Housing Authority is seeking a reliable and skilled Part-Time Maintenance Technician to join our team. This individual will work under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager and will play an important role in ensuring that our apartments, offices, and common areas remain safe, clean, and well-maintained for residents. Key Responsibilities: Perform general maintenance and repairs in apartments and facilities, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting. Troubleshoot and repair issues such as electrical outlets, switches, light fixtures, leaky faucets, clogged drains, toilets, sinks, and minor carpentry work. Assist with apartment inspections, routine service requests, and preventive maintenance. Maintain grounds by picking up litter, sweeping walkways, raking leaves, and assisting with snow removal when necessary. Operate and maintain approved hand tools, power tools, and light mechanical equipment. Support skilled technicians on larger repair projects. Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies when scheduled. Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. At least 12 months of general maintenance experience (residential or commercial preferred). Knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting practices. Ability to operate hand tools and approved power equipment safely. Ability to climb ladders, work in crawl spaces, and lift at least 50 pounds. Boiler License & NSPIRE Certified preferred. Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are preferred but not required. Work Environment: This position requires working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Candidates should be comfortable with physical activity, including standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, and using hand/power tools. Schedule & Compensation: Part-time position with flexible hours. (25 -30 hours per week) Must be available for occasional overtime and on-call rotation. Compensation based on experience.
