Job Summary:
Responsible for greeting and welcoming patients in person. Provides a standard registration process by collecting demographic and financial data and enters information into the electronic medical record. Collaborates with leader to ensure the team operations are staffed and working effectively.

- M-F 7a-330p (with some flexibility)
- Occasionally 3p-1130p (only during training for new-hires)
Principle Responsibilities
- Greets and welcomes patient in person.
- Collects demographic and insurance information.
- Checks in or interviews patient to complete appropriate paperwork.
- Directs patient to their appointment or procedure.
- Uses resources, tools and procedure to complete registration for complex accounts.
- Verifies eligible and benefits information for payers and interprets results focusing on complex billing situations.
- Obtains cost information and explains information to patient as necessary.
- Collect co-pay or deductibles.
- Assists and counsels patient with application process for available financial assistance programs.
- Uses resources tools and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues.
- Collaborates with leader to ensure the team operations are staffed and working effectively.
- Coordinates the workflow among the employees within the work area and informs management regarding the operational needs of the department.
- Directs and checks the work of others.
- Participates in the orientation and training of employees and provides feedback to leadership.
- Provides technical and functional guidance to employees.
- May act as a back-up for all positions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description, and High school diploma or GED preferred
- Associate's or Vocational degree preferred
- 2 to 5 years of revenue cycle or healthcare experience required and
- 2 to 5 years of customer service experience required and
- 0 to 2 years of experience using computers including an electronic medical record, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required and
- 0 to 2 years of general office experience. required and
- 0 to 2 years of leadership experience required
- Certified Application Counselor State of Minnesota - MN Licensure upon hire preferred
