Summary of Role

The Disinfection Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment by effectively implementing disinfection procedures. Cleaning Technicians will have a strong understanding of cleaning and disinfection techniques, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to promoting a sanitary workplace. Record keeping must be complete, accurate and right the first time. This is a 2nd shift position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Disinfection Procedures: Execute thorough disinfection protocols to ensure the cleanliness and safety of assigned areas, including offices, common spaces, and high-touch surfaces.
  2. Chemical Handling: Safely handle and mix disinfectant chemicals according to established guidelines, ensuring proper dilution and application for effective disinfection.
  3. Equipment Operation: Utilize and maintain disinfection equipment, such as fogging machines, sprayers, and other relevant tools, to achieve optimal results.
  4. Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of designated areas to verify the effectiveness of disinfection procedures and promptly address any areas requiring additional attention.
  5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of disinfection activities, including dates, times, and areas covered, to track and report on cleaning progress.
  6. Collaboration: Coordinate with other team members and departments to ensure a comprehensive and consistent approach to disinfection throughout the facility.
  7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to minimize risks associated with disinfection procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  8. Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other relevant stakeholders to report on completed tasks, address concerns, and provide updates on disinfection activities.
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of related experience.
  2. Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry
  3. Knowledge of cleaning and disinfection techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
  4. Ability to follow safety protocols and use PPE appropriately.
  5. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  6. Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  7. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to lift and carry cleaning equipment and supplies.
  2. Comfortable standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
  3. Ability to wear and use personal protective equipment as needed.
