Position Summary:Provides health care services to assist in diagnosis or treatment, producing images for the interpretation by; or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient care (newborn, infant, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric). Contributes to the efficient operation of the department, ensuring the quality and continuity of patient care. Assists in the clinical training of radiologic technology students assigned to clinical site, technical staff assignments, coordinates patient flow and maintains appropriate levels of supplies for general radiology unit. Coordinates the clinical assignments/experience of x-ray students. Assists with Mobile Mammography Unit, as neededMinimum Education Requirements:Associate in Science Degree or Graduate of Certificate Program in Radiography. Prefer previous clinical and/or didactic background in filed of allied health education as instructor, clinical coordinator or faculty.Minimum Work Experience:One to three years experience preferred, but not requiredOther skills and abilities: Knowledge of radiographic procedures, equipment operation, radiation safety,positioning techniques, patient transfers, ethical and professional conduct and good understanding of age-related developmental issues. Flexibility to work overtime as needed as well as on-call duty, weekend rotations. Interest in participating in orientation/clinical education of student radiographers in accordance with clinical education center guidelines for radiologic technology program(s). Ability to maintain effective working relationships with some supervisory duties.Equipment/Software/Certification:Certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in radiography, or equivalent.
