The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes. The engineer will work within an Engineering team, collaborating with Quality and Operations. This team's responsibility is to ensure a safe manufacturing solution is delivered which meets and exceeds cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
May be eligible for relocation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Adapts machine and equipment designs to factory and production standards.
- Plans the sequence of operations and develops specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
- Improves production methods, determines manufacturing capacity, and sets up production schedules.
- Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
- Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
- Proposes the sequence of operations and installations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other processes, which may include disassembly/assembly and repairs, to ensure efficiency and optimize performance.
- Checks and validates that mandatory modifications, programs, and bulletins are incorporated or complied with, as required by the customer and the applicable regulatory requirements, to ensure legal compliance and adherence to quality standards.
- Designs and develops manufacturing processes for products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to manufacturing.
- Such design and development may include new or revised processes.
- Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.
- Reviews field support requirements and recommends tools and test equipment.
- Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment.
- May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
- Prior engineering experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with the design, layout, and troubleshooting of machinery
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Problem-Solving Methodologies preferred.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
