Vernon Memorial Healthcare is seeking a regular part-time Food Service Worker-Dietary Clerk to join our hospital's Food & Nutrition Services department. The hours for the Food Service Worker- Dietary Clerk are primarily from 11am- 7pm three days per week with rotating weekends and holidays. Primary duties and responsibilities: Cook and prepare appropriate quantities of aesthetically pleasing and nutritious foods for service to VMH patients, personnel, and visitors. Observes that patient's nutritional needs are met by working closely with the Clinical Dietitian. Assembles patient meal trays and checks food trays for accuracy. Produces and portions all food items necessary for patient meals, patient nourishments, hospital cafeteria, and special functions including entrees, side items, soups, salads, and desserts. Completes daily stocking and uses food techniques which conserve nutrients, flavor, and appearance. Utilizes measures to control food costs and waste, including following standardized recipes and portion control. Qualifications: Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a cook or dietary role along with a strong interest in food and nutrition strongly preferred. Holding a ServSafe certification is an added advantage, showcasing your commitment to upholding food safety standards. Minimum starting wage is $16.79 per hour with adjustments based on experience.
