**Summary:**
The Purchasing Buyer is responsible to ensure product availability through the timely delivery of inbound transportation loads to multiple distribution centers. The Purchasing Buyer determines when and how to best to expedite deliveries so the distribution centers meet or exceed customer order fill rate goals while managing costs.
**Essential Functions:**

* Ability to read and write correspondence in English
* Intermediate mathematical skills
* Proven listening, communication, and interpersonal skills; including the ability to interact positively with a wide variety of associates at all skill levels
* Effective organizational abilities, decision making, problem-solving and negotiation skills along with a sense of urgency
* Proven customer service skills, with the ability to work through obstacles to achieve a goal
* Bachelors degree in business or related area preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Minimum two (2) years purchasing, logistics, transportation, or distribution experience required.
* Frequent sitting (greater than 50%); Occasional standing, walking (less than 25%).
* Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
* This job is regularly exposed to an office environment. The noise level is usually quiet.
