Project Engineer

The Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful introduction of new products into production, from feasibility assessment to PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) sign-off. This role involves leading the specification and procurement of tools, equipment, and processes, while also fostering strong relationships with suppliers and customers. The incumbent will drive process standardization, implement design for manufacturability principles, and champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities:
Lead the specification and procurement of new tooling, equipment, and plant facilities.
Drive process standardization efforts and leverage lessons learned to ensure efficient tool and process implementation.
Procure tooling to manufacture stable and repeatable components, fostering strong partnerships with key suppliers and customers.
Collaborate with design teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and implement error-proofing techniques.
Support and lead A3 Process Improvement activities to enhance operational efficiency.
Manage the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process for new product introductions within assigned budgets.
Conduct manufacturing strategy reviews, feasibility assessments, and capacity analyses.
Lead critical characteristic reviews and justify capital equipment investments.
Generate and update process flow charts, PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses), and standard operating procedures.
Oversee production tool run-off and PPAP builds to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Coordinate inter-disciplinary efforts and maintain overall quality control of work.
Liaise between project managers and technical disciplines, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
Prepare schedules, conduct pre-planning, and forecast resource requirements.
Manage vendor performance and lead teams effectively to achieve departmental and company strategic goals.
Spearhead process advancements and implement new technologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Adhere to safety protocols as mandated by the company.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Experience within a 1st or 2nd Tier automotive components supplier with TS16949 quality management system is ideal.
Preferred experience in tubular assemblies/components and associated processes (CNC Tube bending, Tube End Forming, Robotic Welding, etc.).
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and tools is advantageous.
Self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible with a commitment to excellence and reliability.
Bachelors Degree preferred
