Job Summary:

We are seeking a Finance Associate to join our Finance team in Chicago to help execute on all day-to-day accounting activities and certain investor requests. The position will report to a Senior Director of Finance or a VP of Finance but given the broad team dynamic, will also interact directly with the CFO, and the Senior Finance Associates. This role requires a high level of accountability and ownership and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
  • Review of quarterly financial packages (including investor capital statements) completed by the third-party administrator (including detailed review and calculation over the following fund accounting areas: carried interest waterfalls, capital calls, distributions, allocations to partners, management fees, waivers, and financial highlights) and identify and resolve issues.
  • Assist in preparing and completing valuations of the funds' portfolio companies.
  • Cash monitoring and reconciliation for the funds including line of credit draws/paydowns and investment fundings.
  • Work closely with the firm's external auditor in the completion of year-end fund audits and interim testing.
  • Coordinate tax deliverables with the firm's external tax provider and review investor K-1s and tax returns
  • Ability to also assist with other Finance team responsibilities such as project management and execution of client service requests directed to the Finance team, including working directly within our client facing portal (InvestorVision), with our third-party administrator (Citco), with other members of the Finance team, with the Client Service team and with the Investments Team.
  • Manage and complete, as needed, various investor requests such as DDQs, ILPA reports, fee analysis, supplemental client reporting etc.
Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of experience in public accounting audit or tax, finance, or an associate role at an investment manager (public or private experience)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized and professional
  • Ability to work well in a team-based setting
