Seeking a Machinist Fabricator for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Gainesville, FL.

This position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental and 401k

Pay is between $20 - $25 per hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Operates and maintains manual lathe and milling machines.
  • Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production.
  • Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
  • Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
  • Coordinate with Welding Foreman to locate and request purchase of necessary supplies.
  • Analyzing specification charts, samples, and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of requirements.
  • Developing a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications.
  • Measuring and marking raw materials needed to manufacture parts.
  • Setting up equipment required to complete each step of the manufacturing plan.
  • Operating equipment to carry out each step correctly.
  • Monitoring the production process and intervening when problems arise
  • Inspecting finished parts for flaws and defects
  • Maintaining equipment located throughout the machine shop.
  • Consult and coordinate with Welding and Fabrication Supervisor for the modification of existing or development of new equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to mechanics and machining and be subject to temporary assignment with other supervisors or for field work.
Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Ability to cut threads on a lathe.
  • Use a Dividing head for Gear cutting and other applications.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Ability to drive a forklift or learn.
