Role Overview

The primary responsibility of this role is overseeing the enterprise network to ensure optimal performance and availability across all our locations. This entails participating in the formulation and execution of policies and procedures aligned with company objectives, industry standards, and regulatory mandates.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Monitoring network performance to ensure adherence to standards.
  2. Implementing enhancements to enhance network stability and performance.
  3. Providing technical support for network-related issues.
  4. Offering guidance on network operations.
  5. Configuring network hardware and wireless systems.

Duties in Detail

  1. Monitoring network performance involves:

    • Analyzing data on network performance.
    • Conducting scheduled on-site audits and Wi-Fi testing.
    • Adjusting equipment placement as needed to optimize client experience.

  2. Implementing network enhancements includes:

    • Regular firmware updates for network hardware.
    • Enforcing compliance with company policies on endpoint devices.
    • Making configuration adjustments to accommodate new systems or technologies.
    • Performing routine configuration backups and tests.

  3. Providing technical support entails:

    • Utilizing advanced troubleshooting methods to resolve performance issues promptly.

  4. Offering guidance on network operations covers:

    • Designing, configuring, and documenting IT infrastructure.
    • Serving as a local technical resource for network projects.
    • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and strategic alignment.
    • Establishing corporate-wide network standards.
    • Researching and recommending advancements in network technologies.
    • Mentoring team members in IT network support.
    • Assessing future hardware/software acquisitions and preparing business justifications.

  5. Configuring network hardware and wireless systems involves:

    • Setting up routers, switches, wireless devices, and firewalls.
    • Conducting in-depth troubleshooting of network equipment.

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience.
  • Strong background in operational and production support.
  • Experience with Cisco, Meraki, and Ubiquiti hardware.
  • Expertise in wired and wireless networks, administration, backups, and monitoring.
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, 802.1q, 802.11 standards, QOS, switching, routing, and industry trends.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred certifications: CCNA, CCIE, CWNP.
