Job Summary:

The Driver Services Specialist is a driver advocate tasked to deliver exceptional customer service to our driver population during breakdown, accident, and various other situations. This role relies on overall maintenance and transportation knowledge to quickly identify the problem to get the driver and truck safely back on the road, as quickly and efficiently as possible. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Maintenance Support.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones in a high volume transportation oriented call center in a timely, efficient, customer friendly manner.
  • Must anticipate and recognize maintenance issues, define their causes, determine a solution and execute the solution on a timely basis. Will coordinate with Operation and Risk Departments as necessary.
  • Clearly communicate in terms that are easily understood by both internal and external drivers/customers/vendors.
  • Demonstrate extreme patience in dealing with volatile situations and adhere to flawless follow-up procedures.
  • Maintain Accident, OS&D, AIG injury reports, Safety, and Security reports.
  • Process invoices for payment.
  • Answer after hour company calls.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • At least 2-5 years' experience in maintenance / transportation role.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, including general truck repair / maintenance, electrical systems and general troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to comprehend regional geography.
  • Applies sound judgment regarding efficient resolution of issues.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a department where priorities are constantly changing.
  • Action-oriented, with a sense of urgency and responsiveness in solving problems.
  • Computer applications using MS Office.
  • Good math, oral and written communication skills.
Other:
  • Must be available to work 3 and 4 day, 12 hour shifts
  • Availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
