Eastern University, in partnership with the national search firm, Scott Healy & Associates, invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Dean for the School of Nursing. The Associate Dean provides administrative direction and strategic leadership for Eastern University's School of Nursing (SON). Reporting to the Dean of the College of Health and Sciences, the Associate Dean monitors and responds to trends in nursing education and healthcare employment, ensures a continuous process of curricular improvement and innovation, strategically grows enrollment, pursues sources of external funding, and ensures compliance with federal, state, university, and CCNE accreditation regulations and standards. The Associate Dean also establishes and manages the external relationships with healthcare providers that are necessary for the ongoing health of the School of Nursing. The search will remain open until the position is filled. * Manages all nursing programs including Pre-Licensure Nursing Programs (BSN/BSN2), MSN, and School Health Programs (CSN, MEd, Cert School Health Sup.) * Chairs SON meetings and serves as Ex-Officio in all SON Committees. * Develops and maintains relationships with hospitals and regional health care agencies and oversees clinical agency contracts to support all nursing programs. * Ensures continuing improvements in teaching and learning outcomes through a robust cycle of student learning assessment. * Fosters an environment in which scholarship, teaching, and learning are adequately resourced and creatively pursued in all academic programs. * Maintains SON professional memberships and represents EU at professional meetings. * Monitors and distributes assessment data appropriately and uses the results in the annual planning process. * Oversees all program accreditations and compliance with standards and regulations (SBN, CCNE, AHNA) * Attends CHS Chairs and Directors meeting. * Attends University-Wide functions and meetings. * Participates in the recruiting and hiring of faculty and staff. * Prepares and supervises the budget. * Remains competent and current in the higher education industry through self-directed study, professional relationships, and participation in appropriate training, conferences, and courses. * Supervises and maintains curriculum and monitors the quality of advising. * Understands and follows FERPA regulations. * Works effectively and cooperatively with other University sectors: Registrar, Deans, Student Development, Admissions, Human resources, Finance, Advancement, Marketing, etc. * Works with admissions personnel to oversee recruitment and admissions of students. * Other duties as assigned. * Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees in Nursing. * PhD or EdD in relevant field. * Demonstrated commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, scholarship, service, and administration and experience working with and in support of diverse populations. * Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills. * Understanding of the context of higher education and, ideally, of Christian higher education. * Teaching and administrative experience in BSN education including pre-licensure and MSN education. * Proven administrative skills and success. * Schedule flexibility for weekend hours and travel. * Enthusiastically supports the mission and values of Eastern University.
