Consignment Customer Service Associate I is responsible for accurately creating patient charts, verifying insurance, and completing proper order entry from start to finish. In this role, you will process all customer orders in a timely, efficient, accurate manner according to MedCare procedures, ensure insurance is eligible, and receive/scan necessary paperwork. Determining whether insurance, patient, or facility should be billed is a vital aspect of the role.
Job Duties / Essential Functions:
- Professionally handle all consignment referrals from providers. Gathers all required data, carefully processes orders, assists with any inquiries, and provides excellent customer service.
- Validate patient details and enter all information and documentation into the system accurately.
- Obtain proper documentation and insurance information from patient and referral sources. Utilize EMR's to obtain all documentation in accordance with payer guidelines.
- Verify facility that dispensed item, patient's insurance coverage to determine if criteria have been met to bill payer, facility or patient.
- Resolve all referrals concerns and complaints by identifying problems and coordinating appropriate corrective action.
- Work open task list when assigned.
- Treat all information and data with the appropriate confidentiality and security. Verify HIPAA contacts when speaking to customers.
- Adhere to all state and federally mandated standards regarding confidentiality and patient rights.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role or customer service-related field.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office with proven data entry experience.
- Knowledge of Payor/Insurance benefits preferred.
