As the Junior Staff Accountant, you'll work under the direction of the Accounting Manager to develop, interpret, and implement complex financial and accounting concepts for financial planning and control. This position is very involved in gaining hands on experience while actively assisting our teams in applying the principles of accounting to unique duties. The Junior Staff Accountant position must reside within our Corporate office to best assist our teams. Read through and apply if this sounds like the opportunity for you

Junior Staff Accountant Responsibilities
  • Complete commission statements with appropriate journal entries and balancing of the commission payable account
  • Respond to inquiries from Account Executives and management regarding the calculation of commissions
  • Complete the commission calculations for the annual budget
  • Directly work with the Systems Analyst to ensure proper system setup for commission calculation
  • Directly work with outside payroll processing firm and HR in weekly payroll entry into ERP.
  • Assisting / tracking of transactions from the Human resource department in the processing of employee benefits
  • Assist in the monthly financial close process
  • Interact with the Corporate Credit specialist to assist in client payment analysis
  • Processing Derse purchasing credit cards as needed
  • Reconciliation of some general ledger accounts
  • Provides assistance and training to divisions with general accounting procedures
  • Complete ad hoc inquiries
  • Assists in the annual audit process. This includes preparing schedules, working with auditors to answer any questions that arise.
  • Acts as a resource for employees requiring journal entry and financial statement assistance
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving improvement strategies
Requirements

Junior Staff Accountant Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Strong skills using Microsoft Suite (Excel, primarily) required.
  • Earning or currently have CPA License is a plus.
  • This position must reside within the Corporate / Milwaukee office.
