Description and Requirements Lenovo is seeking a Senior RFP Specialist. The main responsibility of this role is overseeing large Lenovo Commercial bids and supporting our East Coast teams. Scope for this position includes responsibility for hardware first bids in US Commercial across IDG and ISG, and support for services bids with hardware components. This role is a key sales partner and serves as the main point of contact during the bid process. The Senior RFP Specialist exercises organizational skills to develop a proposal plan and a deep understanding of best practices to ensure high-quality proposals that answer all customer needs and more. This role utilizes problem-solving skills to ensure non-standard terms are captured with Legal and Finance teams upfront and all approvals obtained within the pre-determined timeframe. The Senior RFP Specialist must be comfortable working with customers as well as internal stakeholders. This individual should be a high performer who understands the complexity of supporting a large sales organization and is able to drive successful relationships between Lenovo, our internal stakeholders, and our customers. Responsibilities: Conduct thorough review of commercial solicitations, provide guidance, and collaborate with sales, pricing, fulfillment, and all other relevant stakeholders to ensure proper risk mitigation and proposition for proposals. Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders including Sales Teams, Solution Architect, and Subject Matter Experts during the proposal development process to develop win strategies, technical and management solutions, compliant proposal responses. Work closely with cross-functional internal stakeholders to ensure timely submission of high-quality, competitive proposals aligned with customer requirements and objectives. Review and analyze procurement documents to identify and communicate to the proposal team key information and requirements. Write verbiage as required for proposals, including drafting, revising, and incorporating suggestions for proposal sections, including technical support, past performance, customer testimonials, and executive summaries as needed with content from Sales teams. Proofread proposal content ensuring compliance with client requirements, readability, grammar and spelling, and win theme message consistency and clarity. Assist with the assembly and submission of the assigned proposal in hard and/or electronic copy document format. Prepare slide decks and other documents for internal and client presentations. Create and maintain proposal schedule, resources, and deliverables with the Sales Team and any other stakeholders for timely submission of proposal responses. Manage communications with all relevant stakeholders throughout the proposal process and coordinate approval of non-standard contractual terms and conditions as necessary. Review and support correspondence from customers and internal stakeholders concerning proposals with support from Sales. Maintain, review, and update standard proposal templates, and develop new templates as needed for stakeholders. Stay informed regarding proposal and technical industry best practices, trends, and changes in contracting requirements to continuously improve proposal development processes and outcomes. Provide data-driven recommendations and collaborate with stakeholders to implement improvements in offerings. Identify opportunities to improve sales efficiency and drive deal velocity. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as needed. Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of previous sales or sales support experience; including knowledge of product positioning, profit roadmaps, and development of winning bid strategies. Experience in bid and proposal management. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with process improvement. APMP Certification. Strong working knowledge of applicable commercial business principles and ability to work on diverse issues simultaneously from start to finish. Proven ability to lead multi-functional teams to successful and mutually agreed upon outcomes. Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills. Able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Comfortable working independently but possessing sound judgment leading to appropriate issue escalation. Comfortable working under pressure/with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, deadline-driven business. Comfortable with the ambiguity that may exist within highly matrixed organizations. Comfortable with public speaking and presentations. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365. Management and/or Sales Operation experience a plus. Minimal travel required (less than 10%). ***This position is a hybrid in-office role; the requirement will be 3 days in our Morrisville office and 2 days from home.
