****Summary****
This position will be responsible for performing cost and accounting activities to include developing weekly and monthly cost estimates and reports. Additional responsibilities include analyzing data to identify operational improvements and efficiencies as well as leading transportation project cost and IT projects.
****Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities****
- Develop, compile, maintain and analyze data including, but not limited to, cost and operational reports.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of business processes and systems used throughout Perdue Transportation Inc.
- Liaise with the information Technology (IT) Department and operational team members to lead and/or participate in PTI projects
- Define business requirements, identify data-source, resolve technical issues, and provide training for individuals to run reports on their own, as applicable.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to present and review data outputs to improve operational performance and reporting.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute scorecards for PTI to measure identified metrics for both external and internal team members.
- Maintain and update UltrashipTMS rate management system to assist the Director of Transportation and the Manager of Transportation with routing, carrier bids, and lane cost.
- Continually explore opportunities to improve business processes, as-hoc reports, dashboards and lane analysis for PTI.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation.
****Minimum Education****
* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field, plus 3-5 years of related work experience.
****Experience Requirements****
The Ideal Candidate will have
* 5+ years working in Transportation, Logistics, and/or supply Chain
* 2 + years of utilizing Business Intelligence software to analyze, develop, and distribute reports and dashboards
* Strong math and analytical skills
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Knowledge of GAAP
* Understanding of systems and software applications
* Ability to lead projects and initiatives from the gathering of business requirements, unit testing, training, and deployment of said projects and initiatives
* Ability to develop, train, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
* Understanding of Information Systems and their integration across departments
