The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for maintaining & improving all supply chain strategies, processes, and procedures in order to drive productivity, efficiency and cost improvements. This includes, but is not limited to, identifying, developing, coordinating, and tracking efforts with all 3rd party vendors as necessary to ensure quality service to Aptar Midland and our customers while achieving company identified targets in terms of cost, product quality, customer expectations, and shipping requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead purchasing initiatives to include:
    • monitoring existing supplier performance
    • achieving delivery & quality requirements, while respecting ethics and sustainability standards
    • obtaining competitive quotations for service/goods
    • achievement cost savings targets
    • identifying and qualifying new suppliers
  • Lead purchasing activities for renewal of supplier agreements and service standards, certifications, and other contractual obligations based on predefined targets.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and full achievement of contractual obligations to Customers for lead times, inventory & capacity.
  • Evaluate and report on KPI's as they pertain to supply base and plant performance metrics (OTIF) via leadership of S+OP process
  • Partner with Global Aptar locations to coordinate long range demand and supply planning, raw material needs and global inventory control.
  • Collaborate with Operations Director and team to manage all onsite and external warehousing & inventory management of raw material, processed goods, purchased components and contingency equipment being stored offsite.
  • Cooperate with engineering/project managers by providing direct supply chain and procurement support for new and existing program activities.
  • Continually review 3rd party outsourced programs for opportunities to optimize the manufacturing and distribution chain (end-to-end supply chain) in an effort to maximize service levels and optimize costs for Aptar and its customers.
  • Monitor the condition, capacities, and lifecycle of Aptar and customer owned assets at Aptar & supplier/subcontractor locations.
  • Work with sales team to coordinate the refurbishment and replacement of tooling as determined through the monitoring and cycle life management process.
  • Analyze supply chain data and performance, maintaining sustainable inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with Aptar regional functional teams as determined by Director of Operations.
Required Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelors' Degree in Business & Administration, Supply Chain Management, or other related business field
Experience:
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in Supplier/Customer Relationship Management.
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Purchasing
  • Materials knowledge related to thermoplastics, silicone, and other elastomeric materials
  • Proven ability to work within a global, matrix organization with cross-functional & multicultural teams.
  • Adequate knowledge in operations, finance and P&L drivers.
  • Experience in the sourcing market and good knowledge of the selling market
  • High proficiency in the use of SAP and MS Office programs
