Senior Scheduler/Manager, Kiewit Water Facilities South Requisition ID: 178583 Job Level: Senior Level Home District/Group: Kiewit Water Facilities South Department: Project Controls Market: Water/Wastewater Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview: As a Senior Scheduler / Scheduling Manager, you will mostly be considered the lead scheduler for our District. As a subject matter expert in this field, you will perform planning and scheduling activities on large and small engineering and construction projects within the water market. This hands?on role will give you the opportunity to directly impact scheduling outcomes, from proposal through project completions, over a broad range of projects. Kiewit integrates project controls functions such as budget, costs, manpower tracking, and project progress within our schedules, giving you the opportunity to collaborate with various project and company teams. This person will also be tasked with daily/monthly report generation for executive management. By directing the planning, creation, monitoring, and maintenance of projects progress, you will prepare and analyze reports, develop alternative solutions, and be a key team member in driving successful project completions. District Overview: Kiewits Water Facilities South group is one of Kiewits leading water/wastewater (W/WW) districts specializing in construction of water or wastewater treatment facilities, regular maintenance of these facilities, desalination plants, and providing state?of?the?art facilities with new technologies. We are headquartered in Westlake, TX (DFW area), with regional offices in Miami, Tampa, and Atlanta. With this network of resources, we can pursue various alternative delivery projects throughout the southern U.S. region and partner with other internal resources for other projects across the United States as well. We are looking for new team members who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to our approach of construction?led alternative delivery projects, supported by our in?house design team. Our staff receive continuous and extensive training, hands?on experience, and challenging responsibilities from the day they join our team, and they quickly develop the expertise that has earned our district its reputation as the premier W/WW contractor in the southeast United States. Location: This role will be based at our corporate headquarters in Westlake, TX (DFW area) and may involve future travel to major project sites across the southeastern United States. Responsibilities: Develop fully resource?loaded schedules including activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long?lead procurement items, and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the project. Develop and maintain schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations, available manpower, and resources based on industry and company standards. Provide scheduling analysis for delays and impacts (Time Impact Analysis) to identify and mitigate project risks and assist with change management procedures. Assist in the management of internal controls, including implementing new process controls, measuring project performance, reporting on project status, and ensuring the integrity and validity of internally and externally disseminated information. Gain and apply knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology to develop and maintain critical path logic networks and accumulate/access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting. Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems. Collaborate effectively with various project teams, field personnel, and clients to create accurate reports and achieve goals. Attend regular in?person meetings and give regular reporting as needed. Qualifications: Associate or Undergraduate Degree in engineering, construction management, data management, business, finance, or related field. Minimum 7 years of experience working in engineering and construction scheduling, or another operations execution position within the construction industry. Expertise in building schedules via the use of project documents (drawings, specs, contracts) Experience with Primavera (P6) scheduling. Ability to proactively collaborate with different project teams and personnel to gather data and meet project goals. Ability to work independently, utilizing project documents to create engineering, procurement, permitting, construction, and commissioning schedules with minimal guidance. Must be computer proficient and be able to adapt to new programs, innovations, and processes. Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) software and processes Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed to prepare and assist with the preparation of baseline narratives, monthly updates, and TIAs. Demonstrated strong work ethic, effective time management, strong attention to detail, and good organizational skills.
