Thermal Engineering Architect

Chatsworth Products is in pursuit of a proficient Thermal Engineering Architect to oversee the innovation of our thermal management solutions. This vital role requires a candidate with a thorough expertise in heat and fluid flow, and a proven track record of addressing complex design challenges. The individual must have a high level of competency in advanced modeling, with a knack for translating technical findings into clear, comprehensible post-processing narratives. Communication skills are paramount, as the role involves collaborative engagement with cross-functional teams to drive projects in a dynamic work setting. The successful candidate will be expected to lead efforts, design, enhance and expand our range of cooling technologies, from liquid and air-cooling systems to containment products, ensuring optimal performance in diverse operational conditions.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. (preferred) in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Heat Transfer or Fluid Dynamics.
  • Proficiency with numerical modeling techniques.
  • Knowledge of thermal components such as heat sinks, heat pipes, and vapor chambers.
  • Proficient in CAD and CFD tools for thermal management system design and simulation.
  • Experience with optimization techniques for thermal applications.
  • Skill in scripting languages for engineering automation.
  • Analytical tool competence (MATLAB, C++, etc.) for data analysis.
  • Expertise in thermal measurement techniques.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes for thermal components.
  • Creative problem-solving for multidisciplinary design challenges.
  • Detail-oriented troubleshooting.
  • Collaborative skills for team environments and cross-team integration.
  • Strong communication skills for complex concept articulation.
  • Project management experience, emphasizing quality, cost, and schedule adherence.
  • Knowledge of various thermal management technologies and applications.
  • Dedication to innovation and continuous improvement in thermal management.
  • Advanced knowledge in thermal analysis and efficiency optimization.
  • Familiarity with thermal management standards and certifications.
  • Proficiency in thermal system prototyping, testing, and implementation.
  • Quantitative analysis skills for informed design decisions.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations in thermal management.
  • Ability to oversee Thermal Lab Environment
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Willingness to travel for project needs and collaborations.
  • Adaptability to work in office and lab/manufacturing environments.
  • Capacity for hands-on prototype development, including standing for long periods.
  • Skilled use of instruments for thermal evaluation and measurement.
  • Adherence to safety protocols with thermal devices and high-temperature settings.
