Performs CT procedures at a technical and professional level not requiring constant supervision. The CT Technologist must assume responsibility, exercising independent judgments, initiative, and ingenuity in insuring quality images, and pertinent information for diagnoses by the interpreting physician.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:


1. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or registry eligible.
2. Maintains current license as a Radiologic Technologist by the State of West Virginia, or applicable state licensure where services will be performed (excluding Pennsylvania).
3. Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
4. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists- CT Certified.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:
1. Two (2) years' experience as Computer Tomography Tech or related area.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Participates in documentation and evaluation of clinical performance of student radiographers.
2. Perform Daily QA procedures on all equipment.
3. Completes appropriate documentation for every procedure when appropriate either on paper or in the appropriate computer system.
4. Employs appropriate safety techniques for all patients and associates.
5. Utilize all communication devices as necessary to perform appropriate patient care.
6. Perform IV insertion/blood draws.
7. Perform Diagnostic CT Exams as ordered by the physician and/or care provider and in accordance with the radiologist protocols.
8. Assist the radiologist with CT Guided Interventional procedures.
9. Administer IV/Oral/Rectal contrast for CT imaging procedures per radiologist protocol/department manual and ordering physician/care provider order.
10. Utilize 3D Vitrea workstation per radiologist protocol and ordering physician/care provider request.
11. Utilize PACS to ensure exams are completed and available for the radiologist to read and for the referring physician/care provider review.

3. Hearing and visual acuity must be within normal range.
